Today, 12th March of 2010, is the last day of public Desktop Picture Frame 4.1 beta testing. Release install packages will be published in a few days and beta will be removed from downloads list soon. I thank all beta-testers for their reports. Registration data for the new program release will be sent to all of them as soon as possible.
But it is not meant that reports, suggestions and feature requests are not accepted! You are always welcome to say what is wrong and what you need!

Bugs found and fixed:
- only one image is dropped from several that has been dragged on drag and drop over image list;
- target image stays selected after paste from clipboard;
- images paste after target image;
- rare artifact – some image pixels (regions) become transparent at 100% opacity;
- “Apply to all portrait/landscape images” button (placed on “Setup frames and caption options” window) does not update according to current image;
- current frame name (placed on “Setup frames and caption options” window) does not update on frame select;
- image, that has been displayed last, reappears after closing Options pages if image list is empty.
Changes made:
- autoupdate system now performs overwriting of frameset files that are in use by the program (i.e. current frame and frame definitions);
- slide-show begins from the last added image while in the reverse show order;
- installer made ready for handling additional framesets that will come as separate install packages;
- frames of polaroid format is replaced with frames of habitual format;
- new frames are included in framesets.
Changes and bug fixes will be introduced in Desktop Picture Frame 4.1 production release.

- Thumbnails reset to “JPEG/PNG/Whatever Image” after “Setup frame and caption options” window is closed. All thumbnails that were selected for setup are affected. This bug does not impact any setup action.
- “Apply to all portrait/landscape images” button is enabled even if only one image is in the edit list. It’s not a bug actually, but just a bit senseless.
These are fixed now.

Build nomber is 4.1.3707.39430. Hope this one will be a release candidate.
Changes made against prior public build:
- Term “title” changed to “caption” all over the program.
- Caption background of “Plain black” frames set off by default.
- Help file is updated with new figures and some text.
- User license text is updated, registered user now granted to have a number of copies for exclusive use.
- Swapping smoothness made measurable in percents that allows smoothness to be image display size irrespective.
- Minor code changes made.
Bugs description that were found and killed:
- image currently showing do not reflect changes made for caption options.
- image reappears and displays while the boss hotkey mode is active.
- image opacity hard change at the end of each transition that causes transition look too harsh.
- image from previous list displays after clearing image list or loading a new one.
- mess with image show interval after decreasing it.
image opacity hard change at activation moment that causes swapping look too harsh.
- code mess with transition parameters (opacity levels, transition interval and so on).
- the program fails after options pages window is closed if the image list is empty; as example at very first start.
Everyone is invited for beta-testing. I’m interested especially in success stories of fails on Windows Vista and Windows 7.
